FVTU Rubbish Rangers on Patrol
On Saturday, April 29, members of FVTU participated in a clean-up of the Old Steel Bridge Fishing Access Site. In what is becoming an annual event, FVTU put out the call for volunteers to help clean up the fishing access sites along the main stem of the Flathead River. In years past we’ve had enough volunteers to spread out and hit sites from Sportsman’s Bridge to Teakettle. Unfortunately only five FVTU members rallied to the call this year which limited the area we could cover.
Undaunted, our intrepid group of five, bags and gloves in hand, scoured both sides of the Flathead River around the Old Steel Bridge (I guess it’s the New Steel Bridge now) and picked up a half a dozen bags of trash and other assorted refuse too big to fit in the sacks.
FVTU brought the coffee and doughnuts and logistical support was provided by FWP.
Hopefully next year YOU will respond to the call so once again we can hit more sites and help beautify our precious riparian areas.
