2015 Conservation Honorees

Les_Barry1The following is a letter sent to the CSKT Tribal Council regarding our selection of Barry Hansen and Les Evarts of the Tribal Fisheries Department to be honored at our 2015 Annual Banquet for their work in protecting and restoring native fish in the Flathead Valley.

Dear Chairman Finley,

At our annual Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited Banquet, our Chapter recognizes outstanding natural resource professionals who have provided significant contributions toward sustaining and restoring our fisheries resource.   This past Saturday in Whitefish, Montana we recognized and honored Tribal Fisheries Manager Les Evarts and Fisheries Biologist Barry Hansen:

“The Flathead Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited extends our sincere appreciation for your leadership, dedication and perseverance with restoration of native fish within the Flathead Lake and River System.”

Les and Barry are leading the way with efforts to restore our native bull trout and west slope cutthroat trout often in the face of strong opposition.  Their leadership as well as the leadership of the Fish and Wildlife Department is exemplary and much appreciated by our Chapter.
